Italian
Salomon Giant Slalom champion Max Blardone took a great 4th in Giant Slalom
at Soelden World Cup Opening!
Third best time after the first run, Max Blardone achieved a great second run ending
just one hundredth of a second at the bottom of the podium!
Having returned to the Salomon family a few months ago, Max has proved that he
will be one of the main favorites for victories and medals this season!
“I’m
very pleased to have returned to the team with whom I established my career and
got my first great results. I strongly believe in technology and Salomon’s
efforts give me all the enthusiasm I need. I know for sure that we will work
together in the best way possible!”
Victory went to Swiss champion Didier Cuche who was already leading the
first run. American Ted Ligety took second and the discipline's 2009 World
Champion Carlo Janca took third.
Salomon skiers also achieved great performances with Italian
Davide Simoncelli 8th, Austrian Romed Baumann 14th, Salomon new comer
Sandro Viletta 17th and Austrian Hannes Reichelt 18th. Returning
from injury, Alberto Schiappati (21st) and François Bourque
(28th) also gained confidence in this first race.
Congratulations to Max
and all the Salomon athletes!
